For Recruiters

Recruiting talent and high calibre individuals is becomming ever more challenging and competitive, especially at the student/graduate level. This website can help you keep one step ahead of the competition in recruiting, at the same time as help you find valuable resource for the vacation periods.

The advantages of taking on interns are not always obvious initially, but if done in the correct way, it can be very useful for the company in both the short and long term.

Major advantages include:

  • increasing awareness of the company with current students, especially as the interns can help the recruitment process after they return to university.
  • the students that have taken the initiative to do an internship are often higher calibre than the average, and when they are looking for a graduate job they already have a social and support network at your firm - the costs of finding a new job and settling in to an unknown envrionment often mean that those students return to the firm if the firm choses to keep them on.
  • improved language skills and a knowledge of the global operations of the firm, if the internship is done at an overseas office.
  • effective, enthusiastic and relatively inexpensive talent.

To get the most out of a summer student, the company should look to provide the student with a 10-12 week project. Possible projects could include:

  • website development project
  • market research for a new product
  • promotional activities - PR, events etc.
  • internal procedure assessment
  • redesign promotional materials
  • development of a small technical engineering part
  • assessment of competing technology
  • anything you have been thinking about, but couldn't justify additional expensive resource.
